‘Mars’ Lace and Sequin Applique Halter

-Inspired by the planet Mars, this totally one-of-a-kind halter top was fashioned from a re-purposed, 100% cotton men’s button-down shirt of orange and white tiny gingham, onto which I stitched pieces of embroidered and sequinned lace, in a beautiful tree-branch-like pattern across the front and extending up onto the neckline collar.
-Halter ties in the back and is darted at the bust for a comfortable fit.
-Size: fits smaller bust (unless you want to show a little side-boob), XS to M; pictured tucked in, but extends approximately to hip-line

-I re-purposed this comfortable three-quarter-length sheer sleeve top from a thrift-store dress. The bodice has a lovely ponte texture, and the back splits open down the middle (closed at the top, open at bottom) to reveal a second layer of cream knit underneath, and provide a comfortable fit. -These come from a bougainvillea bush I grow in my front yard in Yuma, Arizona. When they fall to the ground, they dry and fade in the sun, some bleaching to a yellow or tan color, some remaining various shades of vivid to faded pink.
